The Salehe Bembury x New Balance 2002R Peace be the Journey is a high-profile collaboration between the Vice President of Versaces footwear campaign and the Boston based sneaker brand on the classic performance running shoe. The 2002R debuted in 2010 and was brought back by New Balance with modern performance updates years later. On the Peace be the Journey, New Balance recruits Salehe Bembury for his take on the technical running shoe and it doesnt disappoint. The vibrant orange colorway is inspired by morning hikes around Arizonas Antelope Valley. Open yellow mesh forms the base of the shoe. Hairy orange suede overlays and maroon nubuck panels combine to create an earthy appearance. Blue shearling graces the N branding found on either side.
