The Womens New Balance 550 UNC is a womens-exclusive version of the vintage basketball shoe in a colorway inspired by the North Carolina Tar Heels college basketball teams uniform colors. The UNC, in spite of its nickname, has no ties to the Tar Heels, but nonetheless draws favorably from the popular basketball team with its white leather construction and light blue accents. Specifically, the shoe has a blue detailing in the form of an N logo on either side, 550 branding on its forefoot, NB on the heel, and New Balance 550 detailing on the tongue.
