Polygonal lug pattern maintains surface contact on loose gravel
The Nike Air Max 98 La Mezcla is a special edition colorway from the On Air collection. In 2018, Nike invited locals from New York City, London, Paris, Seoul, Shanghai, and Tokyo to design their own Air Max colorways on a model of their choosing. The finalists were then chosen by the public, with one winner from each city. NYCs winner was Gabrielle Serrano, who created this La Mezcla colorway. Spanish for mixture, the La Mezcla Air Max 98 features a gradient upper from black to brown to white inspired by the diversity of New York City. The colors represent the full spectrum of skin colors youll find in the city, while the crackled leather paneling represents the concrete jungle. Green and blue accents represent the Statue of Liberty and the water surrounding the city, respectively. The limited edition Nike Air Max 98 La Mezcla released on April 13, 2019.
