The Nike Air Max Penny 1 "Lester Middle School" is a colorway of Anfernee Penny Hardaways first signature shoe inspired by the middle school he attended as a child in Memphis, Tennessee. After playing on the schools basketball team, Penny coached the team in the early 2010s before accepting the head coaching position of the Memphis Tigers college basketball team. As for the Lester Middle School Air Max Penny 1, the shoe is designed in the same color block as the models original Black/Royal colorway, except with yellow accents instead of blue. The upper features a black synthetic nubuck base with white detailing on the lateral side wing panels. Pennys signature 1-Cent branding is found on the heel, and yellow jewel Swooshes lay within the lateral side wings.
