The Air Jordan 13 Lakers is dedicated to the Los Angeles Lakers and, more specifically, a memorable showdown between Michael Jordan and a young Kobe Bryant. Jordan, then in his final season with the Chicago Bulls, faced off against Bryant while wearing the Air Jordan 13 Chicago in 1998. The Lakers colorway features the same color blocking as the original makeup and substitutes the Lakers Forum Blue hue along the heel and mudguard. The dotted white leather upper is contrasted by a smooth white leather toe. A holographic emblem denoting Jordans Black Cat nickname, meant to resemble a panthers eye, can be found on the heel.
